Gazprom Nedra completed the drilling season in the Arctic

02 november 2023

Gazprom Nedra has completed the construction of a prospecting and evaluation gas well in the Kara Sea using a self-lifting drilling rig "Arctic". As a result of testing, an industrial gas inflow corresponding to the planned indicators was obtained from productive formations.

In summer, an exploration well was drilled and tested in the Barents Sea with the involvement of a semi-submersible floating drilling rig "Northern Lights", which proved an increase in hydrocarbon reserves.

During the construction of both wells on the Arctic shelf, core material was selected and a wide range of geological and geophysical studies was performed. After the received data will be provided to the FBU "State Commission on Reserves" for inclusion in the state balance sheet, akm.ru reports.
