Scientists from the Institute of Oil and Gas of the Siberian Federal University have created a hydrogen engine for Arctic conditions, CEO of the Russian Hydrogen company Vladimir Sedov told TASS.
The advantage of the new engine for the Far North is that it does not require the import of diesel fuel, hydrogen can be released from the associated gas extracted during oil production. This type of fuel is more environmentally friendly, it can also be used for its own energy generation.
Currently, the issue of creating fuel cells for drones that are used for geological exploration in Arctic conditions is being considered.
