India, an observer member of the Arctic Council, is interested in expanding its participation in joint projects and research in the Arctic, as stated by Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar at the opening of the second business forum of India's cooperation with the states of Northern Europe and the Baltic States.

"India is interested in further increasing its participation in joint research and development projects, as well as in exploring the possibilities of mining rare earth metals, water, in cooperation in the fields of telecommunications, science, technology, innovation," he said.

According to the diplomat, after the launch of the Chandrayan-3 lunar mission and the successful landing of its module, the world community saw the scientific and technical potential of India.

India became the fourth country after the USSR, the USA and China, which managed to carry out a soft landing on the moon.
