A group of Russian scientists has assessed the prospects for the creation of underground gas storage facilities in Russia.
The territory of Western Siberia is recognized as the most promising location.
This year, in order to find places to store underground gas, scientists have begun a detailed study of the Arctic regions.
They plan to complete this survey by the end of 2024. The results with proposals for licensing the underground gas storage in a state database will be provided in early 2025, academ.info reports.
