Representatives of Russia and China discuss cooperation in the Arctic

Russia and China held the fourth meeting of the joint permanent working group on cooperation in the Arctic, the press service of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use (Rosnedra) reported.

Two main areas of interaction were discussed at the meeting: investment cooperation in the Arctic and cooperation in the field of research and environmental protection in the region.

In particular, the parties discussed the participation of investors from China in projects to create the Snowflake research station and the Russian-Chinese Joint Center for Marine and Climate Research, as well as conducting joint integrated expeditionary research in the Arctic Seas and cooperation in the Svalbard archipelago.

The possibilities of expanding scientific and educational cooperation between Russian and Chinese universities were also considered.
