China and Yakutia deepen cooperation in Arctic sustainability and development

The investment potential of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was presented at the business and scientific event "Northern Forum - China: cooperation in the field of innovative technologies for the protection and development of the Arctic". It was held during the Russian-Chinese EXPO in Harbin (China).

Following the event, a number of cooperation agreements were signed, including a memorandum of intentions of the Government of Yakutia on cooperation with the international corporation Xuanyuan Group Industrial Development Co. Ltd. for the construction of the year-round Naiba seaport in the Kharaulakh Bay.

In addition, the parties signed a document on cooperation to construct a medium-tonnage liquefied natural gas plant with a capacity of 530,000 tons per year in the Megino-Kangalassky district of Yakutia, the regional administration reported.
