07 august 2024

Under the agreement between Norilsk Nickel and associations of indigenous peoples of the North aimed at interaction and cooperation, the company is building housing and infrastructure for Taimyr villages, thanks to which more than 30 families received new homes.

The program to promote the socio-economic development of the Taimyr Dolgano-Nenets Municipal District has been implemented by the company's Polar branch since 2020. The construction of housing and infrastructure is an important component of it.

"The main objective of the program is to improve the quality of life in the villages. We are building facilities that are vitally needed here, and we are doing everything possible to ensure that residents have comfortable conditions," says Anfisa Nikiforova, head of the department for work with indigenous minorities of Taimyr in the Polar branch of Norilsk Nickel.

To date, 33 houses have already been built for a total cost of 202 million rubles, 18 of which were commissioned this year. In addition, work is already underway on a rural Community Center in the large reindeer herding settlement of Nosok, and community centers are expected to open in the settlements of Volochanka and Kheta. The total cost of these projects is estimated at 815 million rubles.
