Arkhangelsk’s port welcomes second container ship from China arriving by NSR

The second vessel, XIN XIN HAI 2, arrived from China to Arkhangelsk along the Northern Sea Route (NSR) and unloaded 515 containers.

There are almost 500 Hongqi brand cars in containers for car dealerships in Moscow and St. Petersburg, auto parts for the HAVAL automobile plant, clothing, shoes, chemicals and so on, Dmitry Yurkov, representative of the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region for the development of the Arctic, said on his VKontakte page.

Earlier, on August 13, the first container ship XIN XIN HAI 1 arrived in Arkhangelsk from China. The ship delivered 500 containers of large automotive components for the assembly of HAVAL cars to the Tula plant in 23 days by NSR, and returned with Russian cargo for export.

There will be five such voyages from China to the port of Economy in Arkhangelsk this year, Yurkov said.
