Russia has set a record for transporting oil through the Arctic in the current navigation season, which ends before the period when navigation becomes dangerous.
During the season, a total of 15 oil tankers passed through the Northern Sea Route, and transported about 10.7 million barrels of crude oil. Last year, about 10.5 million barrels of oil were transported along this route.
In addition, navigation along the Northern Sea Route was reduced in 2024. It will be completed in October, not in November, as usual. This means that there is only one month left for the transportation of oil along this route, hibiny.ru reports.
