The United States State Department has imposed sanctions against companies supporting the development of the Arctic LNG-2 liquefied natural gas project of the Russian company Novatek.
The restrictions affect Smart Solutions from the United Arab Emirates, which supplies equipment for the project, as well as the insured Audaz and Pugnax vessels for the delivery of gas liquefaction modules and other materials.
Sanctions were also applied to the White Fox Ship Management company from the UAE. It manages several tankers that have come under restrictions.
In addition, two other companies registered in the UAE that lease tankers for Novatek were sanctioned. According to the State Department, they are largely controlled by Russian individuals and are focused on facilitating the supply of Russian liquefied natural gas, gazeta.ru reports.
