At the end of December, an Arctic expedition organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia will begin.
The expedition will set off from Murmansk, and finish in Chukotka. The ministry said that the expedition will last over 35 days and will be timed to coincide with the interdepartmental exercises "Safe Arctic-2025", scheduled for the end of January.
During the expedition, more than 300 employees and over 120 units of special equipment will cover more than 15,000 kilometers along difficult winter routes. Both the developers and those who responded to the invitation to participate in testing new technologies in difficult climatic conditions will take part in the expedition.
The route will pass through Karelia, the Arkhangelsk Region, the Nenets Autonomous District, Komi, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and will end in the village of Pevek in Chukotka.
The specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation will collect valuable data for further scientific developments in the Arctic. This will be an important test for existing and new equipment, which will allow engineers to get feedback to refine technologies. Participants will also work out various introductory and conditional incidents in the conditions of the polar night, acentury.ru reports.
