A thematic session devoted to the interaction of indigenous peoples of the North and businesses will take place at the international forum "Arctic - Territory of Dialogue".
The session named "Standards of relations between indigenous peoples and business: achievements and new opportunities" will be dedicated to the general state and public socio-economic development which would take into account the sustainable development of dozens of indigenous peoples of the Russian Arctic.
Norilsk Nickel vice president for federal and regional programs Andrey Grachev will present the results of the five-year program to support indigenous peoples which is aimed at preserving their culture, traditional economic activity and spiritual values.
"Not only do we implement projects, but also strive to build a system of relations with indigenous peoples in which they independently determine principles and priorities for financial support," TASS quotes Grachev as saying.
The forum is expected to include the signing of an annual agreement between Norilsk Nickel and the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs (FANA) of Russia on joint programs to support indigenous minorities.
The Arctic Forum will be held on March 26-27 in Murmansk.
