Russia presents transport corridor from Yekaterinburg to Yamal to Chinese Consul General

04 april 2025

The Sukhoi Port project and initiatives for the construction of a meridional transport corridor from Yekaterinburg to the Arctic ports of Yamal were presented to Consul General of the People's Republic of China Luo Shixiong.

"As the Russian president has repeatedly noted, the development of the Northern Sea Route and cooperation with our Chinese partners in this area is one of the strategic priorities," said Ruslan Sadykov, minister of economy of the Sverdlovsk Region.

Sukhoi Port project already operates several large transport and logistics centers in the region.

"The potential of the logistics complex will significantly increase cargo traffic along international transport corridors passing through Russia, up to 220 million tons of cargo along the Northern Sea Route by 2035," the minister said.
