Modular buildings with departure, arrival and waiting areas will appear in the second quarter of 2026 at Norilsk Airport.
Nikolay Utkin, First Vice President and Head of the Norilsk Nickel Government Relations Unit, assessed the process of constructing an alternative version of the air harbor during the reconstruction of the existing airport complex.
"We can see the progress. Our task is to build all three pavilions by April (...) The waiting area, the arrival area and the departure area will be interconnected. In parallel, work is underway on a design project for a new, future airport, which we plan to build. As a responsible company, Norilsk Nickel maintains its own approach, so it is important that the airport we are designing meets modern construction requirements, safety standards for such an object, and comfortable accommodation, taking into account passenger traffic," Utkin told reporters.
