Igor Muraev, deputy chairman of the Arkhangelsk government, spoke about the prospects of logistics cooperation between the region and China at the International Transport and Logistics Forum in St. Petersburg.
According to speaker, the priority area of partnership with China is to increase the volume of cargo transportation through the seaport of Arkhangelsk, the most important reference point of the Transarctic transport corridor.
Arkhangelsk authorities are not only interested in joint logistics projects with China, but also in the creation of joint ventures, for example, in the field of building materials and assembly of cars and machinery.
"We are ready to offer Chinese investors production sites and preferential business regimes, taking into account the specifics of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation," said the deputy chairman.
According to him, China is one of the main trading partners of the region and provides about 50% of its foreign trade turnover.
