30 june 2026

Natural gas reserves in the Russian Arctic amount up to 100 trillion cubic meters, according to Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller.

"Russia's Arctic shelf contains extremely rich initial total gas resources. According to the latest data, they are estimated at 100 trillion cubic meters. Gazprom is expanding its mineral resource base in the Arctic region year after year. In doing so, we have made a significant contribution to enhancing Russia's energy security both today and, more importantly, for the future," Miller said, speaking at the company's annual shareholders meeting.

According to the Gazprom CEO, the company achieved its most significant geological exploration results on the Russian Arctic shelf in 2025.

"We have increased proven reserves at the Ledovoye field in the Barents Sea and at the Leningradskoye field in the Kara Sea," Miller reported.
