Namibia recorded its lowest monthly diamond production during September, according to local media reports.
New Era cited Namibia Statistics Agency as saying that the southern African country produced 36, 601 carats in September.
This, it said, was the lowest monthly production by far between January 2015 to September 2020.
The maintenance of mining vessels caused low output.
Diamond production stood at 88 847 carats in August 2020 and 142 207 carats in September 2019.
The September diamond production index eased to 24.8 basis points, lower by 58.8% and 74.3% when compared to August 2020 and September 2019, respectively.
