Norilsk Nickel opens up pilot testing of its unique eco-operation

Peparations are underway on the Sulfur Program platform at Norilsk Nickel's Nadezhdinsky Metallurgical Plant (NMZ) for pilot testing of the company's unique ecological operation.
The company "TechInnovations", which specializes in engineering support of large industrial facilities, has started work and  will launch the project.
According to Dmitry Zakharov, chief technologist of TechInnovation, complex tests will begin when all systems of future production are ready - engineering and auxiliary, up to fire extinguishing systems, circulating water supply, electricity, hydraulic transport.
According to Zakharov, the first gas from the smelting plant for its purification and production of sulfuric acid is planned to be accepted in the fall of 2023. After debugging a stable technological mode and bringing it to its design capacity with the receipt of high-quality products, the complex will be put into pilot operation.
TechInnovation will also train the operating personnel of the "Sulfur Program", nornickel.ru reports.
