Implats increases its holding in RBPlat to 56.18%

27 june 2023

Impala Platinum (Implats) has purchased an additional 223,000 shares in Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat), accounting for 0.08% of the latter's stake in the issue.

Implats will own about 56.18% of the RBPlat shares.

RBPlat recently expressed grave worry about the ongoing delays in the completion of Implats' purchase proposal, which was made in January of last year.

The transaction had previously been announced to the Takeover Regulation Panel (TRP), according to the platinum group metals miner.

Implats acquired Public Investment Corporation's 9.2% share in RBPlat earlier last month, giving it a majority interest.
