Copper 360 says metallurgical test results from drill core samples from the Rietberg copper mine in South Africa’s Northern Cape have verified significant copper recovery and concentrate grades.
It said that at particle sizes of 80% passing 75 microns, copper recovery was greater than 90%.
Copper 360 said the concentrate grade was more than 48% after one cleaning stage, compared to a standard of 25%.
The test results exceeded the company's expectations, resulting in more copper recovered with less energy, which will have a very positive impact on the bottom line of the new processing plant being built, according to Copper 360.
Copper 360 hired South Africa's SGS Metallurgy and Mineralogy Division to analyse a representative sample of the Rietberg orebody.
The SGS findings supported previous findings of good recoveries and high concentrate grades from Namaqualand Copperbelt ores.
SGS is presently doing variability testing.
