Anglo American has maintained its nickel production guidance for 2023 at between 38 000 and 40 000 tonnes.
This is despite a 4% increase in second quarter output to 9,900 tonnes compared to 10,300 tonnes, a year earlier, reflecting the impact of lower grades.
The first half's production plateaued at 19 600 tonnes.
Meanwhile, Anglo revised unit cost guidance for 2023 to about 560 c/lb from the previous 515 c/lb, showing the stronger Brazilian real and the impact of higher production costs due to lower-grade ore.
