Li3 Lithium finds over 1.2 km of mineralised pegmatite at the Zim lithium project

23 august 2023

Li3 Lithium recently made a significant breakthrough in its exploration activities at the Mutare Lithium Project in Zimbabwe.

The company said it uncovered extensive lithium mineralisation spanning a distance of more than 1.2 kilometres at the Nels Luck pegmatite target during the exploration programme.

At least 842 channel samples were taken from trenches and analysed by the company during the first stage of the 2023 exploration programme.

It is hoped that the current trenching campaign, which is centred on the Nels Luck area in the Mutare Greenstone Belt East zone, will help to select priority targets for the planned 5,000-meter exploration drilling programme.

“Initial assay results from the first half of the 2023 trenching and surface sampling programmes are promising given that the Nels Luck area of the Mutare Lithium Project is just 15km from the world-class Sabi Star Lithium Tantalum Mine,” said Li3 Lithium chief executive François Auclair.

Li3 Lithium has a 50% operating ownership stake in the Mutare Lithium Project.

The remaining 50% is owned by Premier African Minerals Limited, who are the operators of the renowned Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Mine in Zimbabwe.
