Petra mulls first sale of Williamson goods in September

30 august 2023

Petra Diamonds is planning a first sale of Williamson goods in September 2023.

Petra Diamonds has set its sights on September 2023 for the first sale of diamonds from its Williamson mine in Tanzania since it resumed mining operations.

The miner said last June that production was expected to resume at Williamson in the first quarter of its fiscal year 2024.

Petra Diamonds recently sold 696,194 carats worth $79.3 million at the first tender of the fiscal year 2024.

The diamonds sold were from the Cullinan Mine and Finsch in South Africa, excluding the ones from Koffiefontein, also in South Africa and Williamson.

Operations at Koffiefontein were suspended.
