Gold production in Chukotka decreased to 12 tons

The production of ore and placer gold in Chukotka in 2023 amounted to 12,021 kg as of August 1. This is 1.5% less than in the same period in 2022, according to nedradv.ru.

During the reporting period, 11,314.7 kg of lode gold were produced. Mining of lode gold in the district is carried out by five enterprises: JSC Chukotka Mining and Geological Company, LLC Boulder Mine, LLC Northern Gold, JSC Base Metals (Highland Gold assets), JSC Karalveem Mine (part of the Golden Projects Management Company) and LLC Mayskoye (enterprise of JSC Polymetal).

In particular, Chukotka Mining and Geological Company produced 4,041.5 kg of precious metals, Mayskoye Mining Company - 2,375.7 kg of gold in concentrate, Base Metals produced 2,564.8 kg, the result of Boulder Mine was 549 kg. Since the beginning of the year, the Northern Gold company has processed previously mined and stored ore in the amount of 900 kg.

Placer gold in the region has been mined by 10 subsoil users this year. As of August 1, the result of the production of precious metals in placers amounted to 706.4 kg.

In January-July, gold production in Chukotka amounted to 12,203 kg, of which lode gold was 11,345.5 kg and placer gold was 858.3 kg.
