ASX-listed Lucapa Diamond has found another Lulo kimberlite to be diamondiferous as it continues with the primary source exploration.
Company interim managing director Nick Selby said that seven samples were processed from three kimberlite targets across the Lulo concession, which it owns together with Endiama and Rosas & Petalas.
Of these, the best result was from about 1,460 cubic metres of material from Kimberlite L440.
The sample, he said, recovered eight diamonds, with the largest weighing 2.04 carats.
This is the 14th kimberlite to be found to be diamondiferous to date.
Selby said that they are currently conducting bulk sampling at a second site on L056, followed by L045 and L014.
In addition, two geophysical targets have been confirmed as kimberlite through core drilling and designated L120 and L123.
“Core is currently being prepared for dispatch to the laboratories for mineral chemistry analysis,” he said.
