In a Conference at the trade show 'Jewellery and Gem WORLD in Hong Kong', PGI outlined platinum’s prime role in the future of jewellery. PGI hosted the conference to discuss platinum’s potential as the precious white metal of choice and a significant value creator for future consumers.

Held on 21 September 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the PGI Conference shared expert analyses and insights from key industry players, based on the theme of “Trends Shaping the Future of Jewellery and the Role of Platinum”. A line-up of seven speakers invited from across the jewellery value chain explored platinum’s importance to the industry, as evidenced by the opportunities it affords jewellers and retailers entering the market and the investments in innovation it brings to designers and manufacturers.

According to PGI, the innovation through advances in platinum alloy and technology further builds confidence for the industry that platinum is a premium value creator in a jeweller’s business portfolio. Given its strength and resilience, platinum is also the preferred setting for diamonds and coloured gems.
