The following is India's overall gross export and import statistics of c&p diamonds and rough diamonds according to the provisional statistics provided by the Gem & Jewellery Council of India for the period of APR 2023 – AUG 2023.
The overall gross export of Cut & Polished diamonds at $1360.39 mn in month of AUG 2023 is showing a decline of 27.61% as compared to $1879.16 mn for AUG 2022.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds at $174.70 million in month of AUG 2023 is showing a growth of 32.58% as compared to $131.78 mn for the same period of previous year.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in DTA at $38.57 mn is showing a growth of 8.51%as compared to $35.54 mn for the same period of AUG 2022.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in SEZ at $136.14 mn is showing a growth of 41.47% as compared to $96.23 mn for the same period of AUG 2022.
The overall gross Exports of Cut & Polished diamonds at $7028.31 mn is showing a decline of 30.27% during April 2023 - August 2023 as compared to $10079.94 mn for the same period of previous year.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds at $621.25 mn is showing a growth of 0.72% as compared to $616.84 mn for the same period of previous year.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in DTA at $176.44 mn is showing a decline of 15% as compared to $207.80 mn for the same period of April 2022 – August 2022.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in SEZ at $444.81 mn is showing a growth of 8.74%
as compared to $409.04 mn for the same period of April 2022 – August 2022.
Rough Diamonds
Gross Imports of rough diamonds at $1317.38 mn in August 2023 shows a decline of 3.28 % compared to rough diamonds of $1362.04 mn imported in August 2022.
Gross Imports of rough diamonds at $6428.13 mn in APR 2023 - AUG 2023 have shown a decline of 18.27% compared with the imports at $7865.40 mn for previous year.
Polished Lab Grown Diamonds
Provisional gross export of Polished Lab Grown Diamonds for the period APR 2023 - AUG 2023 at $562.54 mn shows decline of 26.55% over the comparative figure of $765.87 mn for previous year.
