The board of directors of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) has unanimously appointed Isidore Mörsel, CEO of Dali Diamond Company, as its new president. He will replace David Gotlib who resigned from the board of directors in September.
Isidore Mörsel is a prominent figure in the diamond industry, currently serving as the CEO of Dali Diamond, a well-established, third-generation diamond company known for its extensive vertically integrated operations. His commitment to the diamond sector extends beyond his role at Dali Diamond. From 2008 to 2012, Isidore served as a board member of the AWDC, the Diamond High Council, where he played a crucial role in shaping the industry's policies and practices. He joined the AWDC board again in 2020.
AWDC CEO Ari Epstein expressed his gratitude towards former President David Gotlib for his commitment to protect the interests of the organization during his tenure and wished incoming President Isidore Mörsel much success in his new role.
AWDC coordinates and officially represents the Antwerp diamond industry. Belgium's Antwerp is a major diamond trading hub that 86% of all rough diamonds and 50% of all polished diamonds pass through.
