ALROSA to hold Russia's first auction of colored and special white diamonds in Moscow

09 november 2023

Russian diamond mining giant ALROSA will hold Russia's first auction of colored and white diamonds of special sizes, including two high-quality stones weighing more than 30 carats each.

In total, 32 colored and 10 large white diamonds, distinguished by rare characteristics and high quality, will be put up for auction. The company noted that such precious stones are in particular demand among investors, collectors and connoisseurs of fine jewelry.

Highlights of the auction include a yellow and a white diamonds weighing more than 30 carats each, an intense pink oval diamond weighing 0.92 carats, as well as a 14-carat yellow and a 10-carat white pear-cut diamonds.

“This is the first ALROSA auction of mainly colored diamonds that are especially rare - on average, only one out of 10,000 natural diamonds has a pronounced color. It is no coincidence that colored diamonds and jewelry with them often become the main lots of world jewelry auctions. In addition to jewelry and collectible value, they are attractive as an investment asset, their value has been growing steadily for many years,” says Elena Sukhoveyeva, head of the ALROSA Diamond Exclusive program.

Pre-auction viewings will take place in Moscow on November 14 - 15, the auction will take place on November 14 -16.
