The All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) saw demand surge at its multi-brand ‘India Jewelry Shopping Festival’ (IJSF), which runs until November 22.
The trade organisation has projected up to a 50% increase in overall business this festive season, exceeding its original predictions. The GJC works to bring together jewellery manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and exporters through its sales initiatives.
“We had anticipated a growth of 30-35% during this festive season, and we are thrilled that expectations have not only been met but surpassed. We are keeping a close eye on the unfolding trends, expecting this Diwali to break records with a potential 50% surge in overall business", said the IJSF’s convenor and GJC’s director Dinesh Jain.
The All India Gem & Jewelry Domestic Council describes the Indian Jewelry Shopping Festival as the “world’s largest jewellery festival'. The multi-brand and multi-location event is designed to boost fine jewellery sales by engaging shoppers in promotional offers and collection launches. This season, the shopping festival features 1,500 participating jewellers from over 170 Indian cities.
