Chukotka increased gold production by 7%

Gold production in the Chukotka Autonomous District in January - October 2023 amounted to 19.73 tons, which is 7% more than in the same period of 2022.

According to the regional Department of Industry, during the first 10 months of the year, enterprises in the region mined 17.53 tons of precious metal, production at placer gold deposits amounted to 2.2 tons. Silver production in January - October of this year increased by 16% to 96.72 tons.

As of November 1, five mining enterprises were producing gold from ore: JSC Chukotka Mining and Geological Company, LLC Bouldery Mine, LLC Northern Gold, JSC Base Metals (assets of Highland Gold), JSC Karalveem Mine (MC Golden Projects subsidiary) and LLC Mayskoye (Polymetal's subsidiary).

Of the total volume, Highland Gold enterprises provided 67% of the total gold production in the district.
