DMIA introduces same-day diamond verification service in conjunction with IGI

08 january 2024

The Diamond Manufacturers & Importers Association of America (DMIA) and the International Gemological Institute (IGI) collaborated to develop a same-day diamond verification service.

The organizations are conducting an early testing of a new diamond verification service that will provide same-day turn-around time for both single stones and diamond parcels. While this service's “soft launch” began on December 18th, the official launch is scheduled for January 10, 2024.

“We cannot overstate the importance of diamond verification to protect the integrity of the natural diamond industry and the reputation of each of our members,” DMIA President Stuart Samuels stated.

DMIA has also installed four De Beers Diamond Verification Instruments, and a GIA's gem testing machine, both of which are available for use by the association's members.

The association will hold a special meeting on January 10th to provide all the details and tell its members more about these initiatives.
