Multinational mining and metals processing group Sibanye-Stillwater has appointed Melanie Naidoo-Vermaak as its chief sustainability officer, effective January 1, 2024.
“As the group has grown and evolved, we have continued to attract exceptional talent externally while retaining our top talent internally to ensure efficient delivery of our strategic priorities,” said Sibanye-Stillwater chief executive Neal Froneman.

Naidoo-Vermaak previously worked at various leading international mining companies, including Harmony Gold, De Beers Consolidated Mines, BHP Billiton, and Anglo American.
She has more than 20 years of experience in sustainable development in both the private mining and public sectors in South Africa and beyond.
