The annual Investing in African Mining Indaba, which is regarded as the world’s largest gathering of influential stakeholders in the African mining industry, has commenced in Cape Town, South Africa.
The 2024 conference will celebrate Mining Indaba's 30th anniversary.
The theme of this year’s event is “Embracing the Power of Positive Disruption: A Bold New Future for African Mining.”
The organisers of the event said the theme outlines the need for Africa’s mining industry to embrace finding a solution and a path towards positive change to become a meaningful global competitor, as key minerals are required to drive a sustainable future for the planet.
More than 9,500 delegates and 450 mining companies are attending the conference.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will officially open the conference.
