Lucapa recovers 203-carat Type IIa diamond at Lulo

ASX-listed diamond miner and explorer Lucapa Diamond has recovered a 203-carat Type IIa diamond at its 40%-owned Lulo mine in Angola.

Other Lulo partners are Endiama and Rosas & Petalas.

Lucapa managing director Nick Selby said in a statement that the diamond is the fifth largest and the 43rd +100 carat diamond to be recovered from the Lulo alluvial operations since commercial mining commenced in 2015.

The 203-carat Type IIa diamond was recovered during the processing of run-of-mine stockpiled ore, and its recovery follows those of the 162 and 116-carat diamonds on successive days last month.
