25 march 2024

Dmitry Pristanskov, State Secretary and Vice President for Interaction with Authorities and Management of Norilsk Nickel, presented the company's social and sustainable development strategy until 2030 at the United Nations Palace in Geneva.

A round table of the Ecumene Discussion Club dedicated to the development of a sustainable economy and technology was held at a UN office in Switzerland.

Leading experts discussed key issues related to the experience of using artificial intelligence and machine learning, staff development and the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

"In a move towards a global sustainable economy, business plays a big role and is aware of its special responsibility. In our company, we feel like full participants in the global sustainable development agenda," said Pristanskov.

"We produce "green metals" which are necessary for energy transition. We are actively exploring the use of our metals in the sustainable development agenda. And at the end of last year, we adopted a strategy for the socially sustainable development of the company until 2030."

Norilsk Nickel is currently developing more than 10 innovative palladium-based products, a number of which relate to hydrogen energy, said Pristanskov.
