Arc Minerals has commenced an exploration drilling programme over its copper licences at the Virgo project within the highly prospective central structural corridor of the Kalahari Copper Belt (KCB) in Botswana.
The company said last month that the "encouraging" results of an induced polarisation survey showed possible drill targets along two clear ways of high chargeability that were close to the thought redox contact.
It also detected at depth a large, previously unknown anomaly of high chargeability and low resistivity.
The exploration drilling programme will combine reverse circulation and diamond drill holes to test these anomalies.
“I am very pleased that drilling is now underway at our Virgo project. This will be a busy and exciting period for the company and I look forward to reporting back on the results from these activities,” said company executive chairperson Nick von Schirnding.
Arc previously carried out a scout drilling programme, which confirmed the interpreted geological formations within the licence areas.
