Tertiary gets initial positive exploration data from Zambia prospect

01 august 2024

Tertiary Minerals has identified a substantial copper-in-soil anomaly at the Mupala property in Zambia.

It said the anomaly verifies the prospectiveity of the licence, in addition to historical data and its proximity to other copper prospects.

Tertiary chairperson Patrick Cheetham said this soil anomaly offers a promising start to exploration at Mupala, even though additional research is needed to ascertain its importance.

Mupala is situated in the Domes Region of Zambia, on the western side of the Kabompo Dome. This region is home to numerous copper and nickel mines already in production, including the Trident project of First Quantum Minerals.

The soil sampling programme necessitated the collection of 684 samples, with the anomaly estimated to be 1,800 metres in length and 600 metres in width, with a peak value of 422 parts per million.
