RUIE’s Coordinating Council in Siberia elects new chairman

The Coordinating Council of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE) in the Siberian Federal District has elected Andrey Grachev as its new chairman.

The meeting was held in the presence of Alexander Shokhin, President of the RUIE, and the heads of ten regional branches of the organizations located in Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk District, Kemerovo District, Novosibirsk District, Altai Territory, Omsk District, Tomsk District, the Republic of Tyva, the Republic of Khakassia, and the Republic of Altai.

"Siberia has significant investment, industrial, recreational, and scientific-technical potential," Shokhin noted.

"It is important that the activities of the RUIE in the Siberian Federal District be even more pronounced... The Coordinating Council in the Siberian Federal District should become one of the leaders in the formation of the federal agenda and the implementation of federal projects."

Andrey Grachev, who is currently the Vice President for Federal and Regional Programs of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, outlined the main tasks of the Coordinating Council of the RUIE branches in Siberia for the near future.

Among his proposals are the dissemination of the best regional practices for business development and support; discussion of problematic regional issues that require solutions at the federal level; organizing systemic interaction between regional branches and regional authorities by utilizing the mechanism of public-private partnership; expanding the participation of business representatives in regional branches.
