Scarselli: Authentia is much ahead of other blockchain platforms for diamond traceability

15 november 2024

Authentia.io, which offers the diamond industry's first legally recognised protocol on public blockchains, providing the most comprehensive solution for diamond origin and authenticity, is arguably ahead of all other blockchain platforms, according to proprietor Bruno Scarselli.

He told Rough&Polished that Authentia is the only traceability project to have introduced intellectual property management to the blockchain when addressing diamond products.

Scarselli, who is the managing partner at Scarselli Diamonds and founder of Authentia.io, said as the diamond industry embraces blockchain technology to ensure provenance and traceability, intellectual property (IP) governance has become a vital component.

“By prioritising IP protection, stakeholders ensure data accuracy, prevent tampering, and support innovation,” he said.

“As the industry continues to evolve, robust IP governance will remain essential for maintaining trust and integrity.”
