The British company Less Common Metals plans to open a rare earth metals and alloys production plant in France, with investments of 110 million euros.
After commissioning, the plant in the province of Lacq in the Atlantic Pyrenees, along with an enterprise of the French company Carester, will become part of an industrial cluster and create up to 140 jobs.
The company says that the project is still under discussion, in particular, with regard to the issue of energy supply.
The Less Common Metals project fits into the European dynamics of diversification of supplies of rare earth metals and alloys, usinenouvelle.com notes.
