Yakutia and Belarus discuss diamond cutting cooperation in Minsk

05 october 2026

A delegation led by the head of the Republic of Yakutia visited the Belarusian company Gomel PO Kristall and discussed its participation in establishing a diamond cluster in the region.

"Yakutia and the Republic of Belarus will expand cooperation in the jewellery sector," TASS reported, citing the press service of Yakutia’s government. "The parties discussed the involvement of Kristall specialists in creating a diamond cluster in Yakutia."

Gomel PO Kristall is reportedly the only enterprise in Belarus engaged in diamond cutting and the manufacture of precious metals jewellery. The cooperation entails a technological partnership, the exchange of expertise, and the training of diamond cutters.

"The calibre of the specialists and the enterprise's technological capabilities are very high, and I am confident that our cooperation on the diamond cluster will only grow stronger. Our shared goal is to boost productivity and efficiency in the jewellery and diamond-cutting industries of both countries," stated head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolayev.

Meanwhile, the Yakutian delegation participated in the Innoprom.Belarus international industrial exhibition in Minsk, where it also discussed the establishment of a diamond-cutting cluster.
