Anglo American appoints Anne Wade as senior independent director

Today

Anglo American has appointed Anne Wade as senior independent director, effective immediately.

Wade joined the company's board as an independent non-executive director in January 2025.

She currently serves on the board's audit, remuneration, and sustainability committees, and with this additional role, she has also been appointed to the nomination committee.

Outside of Anglo American, Wade chairs Man Group, the London-listed investment management group.

She spent the majority of her executive career in the asset management industry, largely with Capital Group focusing on infrastructure investment.

Her non-executive career includes previous board service at Summit Materials, John Laing Group, and Holcim.

Ian Tyler, who has held the senior independent director role since April 2022, will continue as an independent non-executive director, chair of the remuneration committee, and a member of the audit and nomination committees.

The change in responsibility follows Tyler's review of his existing board commitments.

“Since Anne's appointment to our board in 2025, she has brought a wealth of insights to our discussions drawn from her extensive experience as a non-executive director and from her capital markets career,” said Anglo American chairperson Stuart Chambers.

“I am grateful to Anne for taking on the senior independent role in addition to her existing committee duties.”
