For "Norilsk Nickel" the accident served as a certain catalyst, after which the company was presented with large claims of various nature. In addition, he said, fragmentary studies were previously carried out in different years on a particular problem. Therefore, the company decided to conduct a normal audit. Moreover, such studies have not been carried out either in the USSR or in Russia.
According to Seleznev, it is very good when in Russia the same research is carried out by the same people, with the same methods. “I believe that this initiative should result in such a total check, an inventory of all living things that we have, done by the state, because we cannot do this for the whole country,” he said. “Therefore, we really want to continue these studies, we really want other enterprises to join them, we really want the state to lead all this. We will definitely participate in this."
At the same time, Seleznev noted, we are very cautious about what needs to be done based on the results of these studies. Research should last more than one year.
