Norilsk Nickel presents its own monitoring system for buildings and structures in Skolkovo

22 march 2023
At the "Clean Country" exhibition in Skolkovo Norilsk Nickel presented its own monitoring system for buildings and structures on Taimyr, sgnorilsk.ru reported.
The system presented by the company consists of 1200 sensors transmitting data to a specialized platform. The platform accumulates and analyzes information, preparing reports. In addition, the system also includes a specially created satellite map and a dispatch center.
Analysis of the data obtained allows timely detection of deformation of buildings and structures as a result of soil thawing. Thanks to the work of the monitoring system in Norilsk, work has already begun to strengthen the foundations of a number of buildings.
At the exhibition Norilsk Nickel also announced plans to develop a regional climate model and create a system for background monitoring of permafrost on the territory of Taimyr based on a landfill approach. Thus, Norilsk Nickel will be able to provide up-to-date data to the scientific community for a more accurate study of climate change and the development of measures to protect it.
