Norilsk Nickel implements the Clean Norilsk program
The program was initiated and implemented by Norilsk Nickel.
"Clean Norilsk is a brand that is discussed not only at the regional level, but also at the federal level. So, we definitely did the right thing. They began to implement it from the middle of 2021. During this time, 287 objects were dismantled, mainly industrial ones," Utkin said.
Given the remoteness of the Norilsk industrial district, the total duration of the program will be ten years. During this time, it is necessary to dismantle more than 500 units of unattended structures, remove up to two million tons of waste and more than 600.000 tons of scrap metal. The total area of the cleaning area is 24 million square meters.
In the first two years of the program's implementation, Norilsk Nickel has already allocated 11 billion rubles, which were allocated for cleaning, purchase of special equipment, as well as the formation of a special unit and recruitment of personnel.
Since the beginning of the Clean Norilsk project, 262 emergency and unused facilities have already been dismantled, 814.000 tons of garbage, 71.000 tons of scrap metal have been collected, and an area of 2.6 million square meters has been cleared.
In addition to cleaning, the program involves the removal and processing of waste, land reclamation, ttelegraf.ru reports.
