"Peculiarities of National Cleaning" event held in Dagestan

27 june 2023

On June 25, the KOMPAS Foundation organized a clean-up event in Makhachkala with incredible drive and ethnic flare. Members of the Russian Federation for Sport Wrestling helped organize the event. Before the start of cleaning, wrestlers held a fitness warm-up for the participants of the event, and then, together with everyone else, they collected garbage on the Lunar Coast beach.

Many athletes deliberately stayed in Dagestan after the Russian freestyle wrestling championship to support the "Peculiarities of National Cleaning," said the head of the Russian women's freestyle wrestling team, European champion Natalia Golts.

More than 700 people took part in the ecological cleaning. People came with large families. There were many students and children. In total, about 3 tons of garbage were collected.

The Minister of Sports of the Dagestan Republic, two-time world and European champion Sazhid Sazhidov explained that it is important for Dagestanis to keep cleanliness in everything - both in thoughts and in deeds.

"We can wait for the state to do it for us - the mayor, officials, someone else. But first of all, this is our duty together - not to litter. If someone unconsciously littered, clean up after him. Thanks to each of you for your work," said Artem Bichaev, the State Duma representative for Dagestan.

The objectives of the "Peculiarities of National Cleaning" are to unite people through love for nature, increase eco-culture, achieve goals within the national ecology project.
