Nornickel will support business projects of entrepreneurs in the Murmansk region

29 june 2023

Norilsk Nickel will finance and support eight business projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents of the Murmansk Region. Funds amounting to 20 million rubles will be allocated in the form of interest-free loans for up to two years.

The company conducted an educational program for entrepreneurs of the Murmansk region lasting four months during which entrepreneurs created business projects, received mentoring support and consultation, and also discussed the main challenges of business development in the region during trainings and webinars. The educational program led to a demonstration day and an investment session, where entrepreneurs presented their business projects.

During the investment session, 13 business projects applying for funding from Norilsk Nickel were considered. Eight received support, among them are catering, trade, services projects, etc.

“Entrepreneurs have shown an upstanding level of preparation for the investment session and presented promising and economical business projects. The Expert Council approved more than half of them, which speaks of the good preparedness and results of the educational program. It is important for the company not only to support the existing business in the territory, but also to help entrepreneurs start from scratch,” said Irina Zhuykova, Director of the Social Policy Department of Nornickel.
