Norilsk Nickel and Kaspersky Lab to cooperate on digital security of industrial and corporate infrastructure

15 september 2023

Norilsk Nickel and Kaspersky Lab signed a cooperation agreement to improve information security and protect corporate and industrial infrastructure.

The agreement was signed at the Kaspersky Industrial Cybersecurity Conference 2023.

Norilsk Nickel will be able to protect its digital infrastructure from cyber threats such as targeted, phishing and DDoS attacks. To do this, company specialists will test software and applications, including KasperskyOS usage scenarios, analyze security, and audit information security events, including using Kaspersky Lab solutions.

Director of the information security and IT infrastructure department at Norilsk Nickel, Alexey Martyntsev, commented: “The purpose of the new agreement is to adapt our areas of cooperation to the changing conditions of the information security market in Russia, to new challenges and threats caused by external factors. We have been cooperating with Kaspersky Lab for a long time and regard this partnership not only as a way to strengthen Norilsk Nickel’s cybersecurity, but also as an opportunity to contribute to the development of information security in industry as a whole.”

Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab in Russia and the CIS countries Anna Kulashova commented: “We continue to cooperate with Norilsk Nickel to strengthen the company’s information security. As part of the development of our long-term relationship, we plan to jointly develop and test solutions to provide cyber protection for industrial enterprises. At such facilities, cyber threats can cause physical damage, so the risks are especially high. We are ready to provide all the necessary tools to block possible points of penetration of attackers into the company’s infrastructure, effectively conduct investigations and promptly respond to detected incidents. Norilsk Nickel’s vision and expertise are valuable to us as they allow us to focus on the real needs of the industry.”
