The Economic Committee of the Federation Council approved amendments to the energy regulation bill for the Far East and the Arctic.
One of the points of the new bill is a special mechanism for reducing electricity tariffs. It will apply to companies that produce precious metals and stones in the Arctic. The discount will be valid until 2028, according to TASS.
It also provides for the signing of contracts on the principle of "take or pay". This will allow subsoil users to get electricity at a fixed price, and energy companies are entitled to a guaranteed income even with a decrease in consumption. This approach is provided for investment projects until they reach profitability.
The marginal tariffs have also been canceled. This opens up an opportunity for dialogue on electricity prices.
Changes in legislation should help make investment projects more attractive and increase investments in the economy of the Far East and the Arctic.
